Allow me to welcome you, beloved living beings. I am Marta Salvador, a member of the Hispanic Literary and Cultural Institute located in California, U.S.A. The purpose of the Institute is spreading Hispanic literature and uniting the culture of the peoples.

Through the use of papier mâché, cartapesta, oil, textiles, glass, aluminum, knittings, stuck-on earth, shells, feathers, beads, acrylic, rock crystal, semi-precious stones and iron, Marta Díez Ojeda displays her world of Masks, as photographed by Gustavo Díez Spólita, Agustín Muguerza, José Luis Barros, G. Piñeiro and H. Molina Suárez. It is a luxury edition by Alejandro E. Caride, who also participated in the conversations between the artist and writer Rubén Vela, the latter being the author of the poetic text translated into English by Sara Samet de Gullco. They all contributed in making it a cultural object carefully designed by Marius Riveiro Villar Studio.

A man from Santa Fe Province who is a diplomat, poet laureate and art collector; a woman artist from Tucumán Province with a gift for manifold creativity, besides being a beautiful woman and a ranch owner; and a high-level medical doctor from Buenos Aires City, in love with her and her art, have jointly produced a book which is a real attainment. It was presented at a serial exhibition of masks and sculptures so human-like that nobody would wonder at hearing them speak.

Art Synchronization between Sculpture and Poetry

On October 3 a presentation took place at the Isaac Fernández Blanco Museum of Spanish- American Art consisting of an excellent double art event involving Sculpture and Poetry: Sculpture by Marta Díez, Poetry by Rubén Vela. The exhibition showed a united esthetic view from these acknowledged artists, who resort to different ways of expression. When art is complemented and its meaning widened, as in this case, we are surrounded by an emblematic vision causing an impact on both our senses and our intellect

Many thanks for joining us. First of all I wish to thank Marta and Rubén, as well as Alejandro, for giving me the chance to participate in this event. It is significant - especially so for a scientist - to be in touch with art from an epistemological, theoretical viewpoint. We tend to make rather complex presentations, but I will try to be brief and make this one as simple and entertaining as possible.
