Sculptures and masks by Marta Díez
By Arte al Día
The acknowledged Tucumán-born artist Marta Díez will present her masks at the Costa Salguero Art Center, where the “Arteclásica 2007” exhibition will take place from May 3 to 8.
“Arte al Día” periodical stated the following with respect to the Tucumán-born artist: “Marta Díez continues exploring the mysterious world of masks, engaging once again her entire cultural and the inner wealth of her affection in order to reach, through her latest sculptures, a synthesis of her own view of the world. As her work progresses, she discovers new meanings to the same subject, allowing her to express her love for the world and attain a symbolic representation of God.”
Marta Díez – her name in art – or Marta Díez Ojeda, as she is known in Tucumán, travelled to various countries showing her masks. She caused admiration and made friends everywhere. She is admirable in her simplicity , and while she draws everybody towards her because of that quality of hers, she spreads warmth among those who approach her.
She is unfailingly backed by her husband, neurosurgeon Alejandro Caride, and her two children, George and Rosarito Neuss, who are her foremost admirers. She avows that her true personality has developed and her talent been released through masks. She once commented that behind masks one conceals one´s true personality, one´s dreams, rejoicing, wishes. Marta´s masks are the outcome of her inner growth, which allowed her to show her true self and find harmony in her life.
The exhibition will be open from 3 to 8 May at Costa Salguero (see document attached), where all readers are duly invited. For persons from Tucumán it is a matter of pride that someone from their own province should be exhibiting her work at “Arteclásica 2007”. It is a fact that, in spite of her having lived in Buenos Aires since her childhood, she does not forget her origin. On the contrary, each exhibition, each remark of hers sho unmistakable pride of her native Tucumán, the beloved land of her birth.
